GULRE EARTH LAB

Gulre Earth Lab is a one-of-a-kind initiative where we bring together people from indigenous communities to collaborate and share knowledge with artists, scientists, and climate advocates.

It’s a 10-day residency and expedition program held in climate-sensitive countries with an indigenous community. We bring participants from across the world to these climate-sensitive areas and encourage them to engage with local communities to understand the issues and the solutions these communities are developing to address climate-related challenges.

WHO CAN APPLY?

  • Individuals from climate-resilient local communities who are using traditional tools and techniques to adapt to climate change.
  • Artists, filmmakers, musicians, or anyone with a background in the humanities and arts who has experience in climate activism.
  • PhD students interested in doing their thesis on local knowledge related to nature, habitat, and climate.
  • Advocates who have been running campaigns, engaging in legal efforts, or performing other forms of climate advocacy.

What Do We Require?

  • A commitment of at least one year to develop projects, campaigns, or artwork related to indigenous knowledge and climate change.
  • Willingness to return to your community and gain a deeper understanding of it.
  • Availability to attend a 10-day in-person residency in a climate-sensitive area or another designated location.
  • A strong background in climate work or demonstrated passion for climate-related work.
